Kyanite Pendant Necklace

Kyanite is one of those unusual gemstones. One the one hand, it is considered a brittle stone though at the same time, exceptionally hard. I believe the "brittle" is that it is difficult to cut the stone but once shaped and polished, can withstand extreme heat which makes it perfect to work with in my medium. Lightweight, flashes blue.

Artisan Handcrafted Process

I use the stained glass Tiffany style method of copper foiling glass, gemstones and vintage items, I then free form copper and hand solder various metals, (tin, copper, silver, brass) then apply patina and finish with a hand polish.
